 about

Mandate:

The Contemporary Ceramic Collective, an addition to the B.C. Potters Guild is a community based, non-profit, artist collective that encourages and supports individual development and exploration in contemporary art. We are interested in allowing emerging and established ceramic artists to come together to: network, connect, professionally develop, experiment, critique work, discourse contemporary arts and reflect, create exhibits, and to create a professional entry point for emerging artists. Members support the creative process of one another and work together to determine the direction of the collective, and organize exhibitions and events that promote ceramic arts.

Vision:

We are a group of juried emerging and established ceramicists, who are apart of the B.C. Potters Guild, that can work together to learn from each other and professionally develop.  As a group we will network and communicate with one another, have critiques of our work, have exhibitions of our work, and potentially coordinate collaborations, studio visits and offer workshops. The collective has a blog which publishes guest articles written by members, offers samples of member’s work on member pages, and promotes work of members. We also promote members on social media of the collective such as on the Facebook page. Ultimately we believe in the promotion of ceramic arts.

The members of the Contemporary Ceramic Collective are all artists who reside in British Columbia, Canada, specifically in Vancouver and the Lower Mainland. We also have long distance members who reside in other parts of the province and collaborate with the group in alternative methods.

This group is an addition to the B.C. Potters Guild, and thus host meetings at the Gallery of B.C. Ceramics on Granville Island.
