Contemporary Ceramic Collective Launch Event

WHERE: Gallery of BC Ceramics on Granville Island
BRING: An art piece or images on USB for critique by a panel of professional artists and the guests who come (optional. Also bring your BUSINESS CARDS for the networking that will also be done!
ABOUT: Come learn about, experience and JOIN the new Contemporary Ceramic Collective at the launch event being held at the Gallery of BC Ceramics on June 8, 2015 at 6:00PM. This new addition to the Potter's Guild of BC will focus on developing and nurturing a ceramics based art practice. This event will be an opportunity for you learn about the goals of the collective and also to contribute your feedback on what you would like to get out of joining it. There will be a demonstration of what a typical Critique conducted by professional artists would be, so please bring your work or a USB drive with images of work (either in-progress or completed)and have it critiqued as well. There will also be opportunity to meet, network and socialize with similar artists in BC.
EVERYONE is invited, CCC Member or not! The CCC is a group is composed of juried, emerging and established artists who use clay as a material in their process of creating art. At the launch, we will have a: -Information Session:an information session about why I created the C.C.C., how to join, I'll get feedback from you about what you, as a member or potential member would like from the collective and would like to do this year -Critique: we will have a demonstration of a critique with a member's work, and then we will invite anyone who comes with either work or a USB with complete or in progress work to have their pieces critiqued as well (get feedback from professional artists working with clay).
Critique Panel:
Anyone is invited to bring work or images of work to receive feedback! We have 4 artists invited to act as the leaders or panel in the critique, although anyone can provide the artist with feedback on their work. It's all about the community!

Potter: Gabrielle Burke -Networking: we will do some always important networking, trading business cards and promo swag. I will have forms to fill out to help you decide on your needs/wants/about you, then we will share these and then allow everyone to disburse and connect with those of similar interests or whom they want to learn from. And trade business cards! This will be a round table type activity and then we can wander and talk. This is a great way to get to know others in the community and learn from them about the business side of being and artist. -Social: and then we can socialize to really meet all those emerging and established artists who create with clay in the Vancouver and Lowermainland communities. The socializing may continue at the Gallery of BC Ceramics or we may move over to the Cats Meow for some beers and other yummy drinks. This is a FREE and ARTASTIC night so please RSVP and COME! This event won't happen if you don't come and being part of the art community is a really important part of being an artist and creating
